Album Cover Art

With all these changes lately, I felt as though the covers for the Winnie The Shit albums were lacking . The old ones are flat and colorless and don’t really evoke any of feelings that the albums do. Recently I updated Hand Driven Episode and Sons Grave to better portray the emotional energy in each album.

Hand Driven Episode is a fun and full of life and color and the new cover has been given vibrant colors and motion. Sons Grave is dark, distant and uncertain. The new cover features a featureless metropolis.

Site Changes

Hey you guys, just bear with me while I retool this website a little. That ol’ drupal site kinda felt like a big coffin with a machine gun hidden in it that I was dragging through the desert in the hopes of using it to enact my revenge. Not exactly light and easy to use. So I switched up to the much more user/developer friendly wordpress. The old site design will be back, in a new and improved form, we’ll be back to pink soon enough.

For the time being, look around at soundcloud and facebook to find some new info.

There will be a few changes to how I manage this project. The first is that, I will be using Soundcloud to do all of my music streaming. This is largely due to the fact that MP3 crawlers were ravaging my track collection. I’ve been adding new tracks quite steadily to Soundcloud, and will be offering uncompressed downloads of them for $1 (let me know if that is too much, of if you’re a family member, too broke-ass to buy it, or want to trade for it, I have a few d/l codes I can give out).

The second is that all albums are now available for purchase in uncompressed format, courtesy of BandCamp. Purchasing these albums will see the money go directly to me (BandCamp takes reasonable cut, but they offer the service to me for free). There are still MP3 versions available on Archive.org, so, if you’re broke, or new to Winnie The Shit and want to check out an album you’re welcome to them.

I’ve wanted to keep giving free music, but quite frankly, I don’t think that this is a good idea. For a few reasons. There are hard costs associated with making this music, businesses overseas in Russia and China just crawl your site and pirate your material for their own benefit, and on a more positive note people have been requesting copies (for purchase) that are uncompressed.

So here it all is, I’ve tried to make everyone happy. Streaming will always be free, and I will still give the odd track away.

Thanks to all of you who have stayed interested and kept me going over the years.
New album soon!

xxoo,
Winnie The Shit
